My Shared Items for July 9th through July 13th:

  • YouTube – ExcelIsFun's Channel – This is a great self-directed resource for helping get your staff up to speed on Excel. All screencasts and videos are taught by a community college instructor who teaches business courses. Great resource!
  • Screenjelly – Home – Just stumbled across this free screencast recording site. It's not bad and allows you to tweet your screencast when done. The audio quality is not the best, but you can embed easily so that's a nice feature. Screenflow is still my favorite though :)
  • chirbit – micropodcasts – audio nuggets – Pretty nifty little tool for audio posts/micro podcasts. Oddly enough, I don't post any video or audio posts, but maybe it's time to step out from behind the keyboard. It's easy enough to do in a workshop or presentation, but seems to be difficult online for me.
  • BusinessCasualBlog.com: How to share a link to a specific timecode in YouTube video – I just recently learned a quick shortcut for pointing people to a particular time in a lengthy YouTube video. When time is of the essence and you want to make sure your recipients find what they need quickly, then this is definitely the way to go. Just append the URL and you're good to go.
  • 2009 Flu Prevention PSA Contest Rules – Once again the Obama administration gets it and incorporates social media (via YouTube) into promoting flu prevention PSAs. This would be a great project to have students work on if you're currently teaching summer school. First prize is $2500.
