Summer Reading List (For Now)
Here’s a short list of what I’m currently reading. I was hoping to read more while on vacation, but am finding out that having a 6 month old severely handicaps my ability to read for any length of time
. However, the summer is young and I expect to get through much more in July and August.
First up we have Seymour Papert’s The Children’s Machine: Rethinking School in the Age of the Computer. I picked this up at Gary Stager’s recommendation and so far it is utterly relevant to our current state of edtech.
Second on the list is James Paul Gee’s What Video Games Have to Teach Us About Learning & Literacy. I’ve just read the preface and introduction and I cant wait to dig into this one.
The other books are more technical: iPhone app development, elearning, etc., but I’ll review them all once complete.
What’s on your list to read this summer?

I’ve been hearing a lot about both of those books lately. I’ll have to add them to my next order. Here’s what I’m reading this summer:

I think I told you I’m from Maui, right? How was your trip? Kauai is beautiful too! Did you do anything adventurous?
nice… I would love to hear what you have to say about Papert’s book.
I have a few audiobooks I’ll be checking out this summer, nothing on the techie end right now as I need to catch up on stuff that’s been sitting in cue.
